Rachel Yamagata is a mix of folk, pop, & soul. Her voice is deep and smokey but she isn't afraid to hit those high notes! When you hear some of her songs you may have that "I've heard this before but I don't know where from" feeling. The reason is because a lot of her work has been in t.v and movie soundtracks including "One Tree Hill", "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants", "The O.C", and "Grey's Anatomy". She only has two solo album, "Happenstance" and "Elephants... Teeth Sinking Into Heart", but she has contributed to many other artist albums singing with artist such as: Jason Mraz, Mandy Moore, Ben Arthur, Ryan Adams, and Chris Holmes. On her first album "Happenstance", she has hit songs such as "Be Be Your Love" & "I'll Find a Way".
